Lalo - Symphonie Espagnole [Meyers/ Lopez Cobos-Royal Philharmonic Orchestra]This is possibly my favourite Violin 'Concerto', it seems to have everything, fast and slow, lyrical and virtuoso, all with a Spanish flavour, i really like the booklet cover [by Carol Weinberg], a sultry look, she must have been 21 in this cover shot.
Last month i also enjoyed listening to this work [4th September 2010], also with Jesus Lopez-Cobos conducting, he was born in Spain [now i always got the impression he was Mexican!, see how my Blog helps me in finding out about the Artists involved?], and he is now 70, these recordings were made in London in 1991.
