Beethoven - Symphony 5 [Dudamel-Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra Of Venezuela]
Last month i found Dudamel's Beethoven Seventh so compelling [7th September 2010], this month it's the turn of his Fifth on the same disc, and what a perfect coupling they are, all recorded in beautiful sound, Gustavo Dudamel was only 25 when he recorded these Symphonies, born in Venezuela, and influential in helping other youngsters in his country, on a career path of Classical music.
The booklet cover photo [by Matthias Bothor], is a very good one, the black background and clothing, and even the black hair, help focus on the hands and face, a really meaningful pose.
