Brahms - Violin Concerto [Yang/ Chistiakov-Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra]
Last month i played the Sibelius Concerto on this disc [27th September 2010], and that was a very satisfying reading, so here's the companion piece, the longer Brahms Concerto, they make a generous 76 minutes together, like i said last month, Sung-Sic Yang is new to me, but these South Koreans are good, and it's refreshing to hear some of these Asian artists that are unknown in the West.
Again i must make mention of the booklet cover, i bought this on auction on Ebay, i forget how much i paid for it, but i know i bid a lot, straightway when i saw it [the cover], i knew i wanted to win it bad, in the West these sort of discs only appear once on Ebay, if you don't win them, then they're gone forever, the booklet's great, a nice sharp picture, the back is clear and easy to read.
