Well it had to happen, a disc appears in my Blog for the third time, i'll have to write at the bottom of the page previous entries for a disc from now on, the last time i played this was at the end of last year [9th December 2010], it's a somewhat newer set of the Etudes, and i'm still coming to terms with it, the noticeable things about Magaloff's playing is that he can sometimes bumble along, maybe his articulation isn't quite exact at times, he plays slightly slow, and you get the feeling that he would have trouble if he tried to speed up, but there's wisdom aplenty too, and this is a really lovely set to own.
Nikita Magaloff is Russian, he died in 1992 at the age of 80, he recorded these Etudes in 1975 when he was 62,
